Become A Volunteer with US!!

How to Volunteer

Healing Horses Sanctuary has a dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers that help keep the ranch clean and maintained. They help us run efficiently as well as provide love, personal care and companionship to the horses.

After an orientation and basic training, volunteers can come to the ranch based on their own availability.  There are daily chores to be done and there are always special projects going on. And of course, the love, care and attention that the horses always need on a daily basis.

We suggest that all new volunteers read the  Volunteer’s Handbook and attend a scheduled Orientation Session before beginning on their own around the horses. Please join the Volunteer Coordinator for the first couple of visits before you come on your own. We do accept horse experienced volunteers to come on their own after their initial orientation.

Come dressed for the weather – We suggest you bring water (water here is city water and  potable) and any snacks for yourself. Rubber boots or boots you can wash off are best – it can get very muddy.  You will be outdoors so wear clothing appropriate for the weather.  Wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. Gloves are recommended – dishwashing rubber gloves work as well as garden gloves from the Dollar stores.
